The
mold base is a semi-finished product of the mold, which is composed of various steel plates with matching parts, which can be said to be the skeleton of the entire mold. Since the mold base and the processing involved in the mold are very different, the mold manufacturer will choose to order the
mold base from the mold base manufacturer, taking advantage of the production advantages of both parties to improve the overall production quality and efficiency. The application fields of mold bases are very wide. Here are four common forms of mold bases:
(1) Diagonal guide post formwork. The two guide columns of the diagonal guide column die set are symmetrically distributed on the diagonal line of the lower die base. In addition to the advantages of the middle guide column die set, it can be fed longitudinally and laterally, which is convenient to use. The transverse dimension of the diagonal guide column die set is larger than the longitudinal dimension, so it is often used in the transverse feeding multi-station progressive die, and also in the longitudinal feeding single-process punching die and compound die.
(2 Rear guide column die set. The rear guide column die set is convenient to send, and can be fed vertically and horizontally, but the eccentric distance during stamping and the imprecise guide of the press will cause the upper die to be skewed, causing the guide column and guide sleeve to be skewed. , Punch and die produce unilateral wear, which affects the life of the die. Generally, it is only used in small and medium-sized dies with low precision.
(3) The middle guide column formwork. The two guide columns of the middle guide column formwork are symmetrically distributed on the left and right, with balanced force, smooth sliding, and accurate and reliable guidance. In order to prevent the upper and lower molds from being reversely installed during the use of the mold, the size of the guide column and guide sleeve must be one large and one knife, and the middle guide column
mold base can only be fed longitudinally. in the progressive die.
(4) Sleeve formwork without through-hole. The fixed part of the mold base is composed of a fixed mold sleeve plate and a guide column; the movable mold part is composed of a movable mold sleeve plate, a guide sleeve, a cushion block and a seat plate; the push-out mechanism includes a push plate, a push plate guide column and a guide sleeve, a reset rod and push rod fixing plate. The forming inserts, runner inserts and sprue sleeves of the non-mold part are respectively fastened in their respective sleeves; various push rods for pushing out the castings are assembled on the push-out mechanism as required. The mold base of this structure needs less parts, less processing workload, and compact structure. Simple die-casting molds mostly use mold bases with this structure.
